Summer is here, but in the golf world, it’s hardly the dog days. Especially not here at Cherokee Valley, where the summer of 2021 is shaping up to be the best yet. Whether you’re a member, daily fee golfer, or somewhere in between, here are five things to look forward to this summer at the Course and Club.
Our full-service, chef-driven restaurant opened over Memorial Day weekend, and we’ve hosted hundreds of guests over the past few weeks.
Currently, Core 450 is open Thursday through Saturday, 5:30 to 9 p.m. for dinner, with the bar open until 10. A Bistro Menu is available Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. And we also introduced on-demand “Cart Dash” service so our members and guests can enjoy the Bistro Menu either on the golf course or at the pool.
Speaking of Core 450, the restaurant will be closed Saturday, July 3 for regular dinner and hosting our spectacular Fourth of July Celebration at the Cherokee Valley Amphitheater. The Americana-themed event will feature walking tacos, pulled pork sundaes, street corn skewers, house-made corn dogs, funnel cakes and popcorn. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Jack Greer Band. The celebration starts at 6 p.m., and you can RSVP by calling
(864) 689-3585.
One golfer recently said he’d drive an hour and pay the fee just to ride a Finn Cycle around the golf course – without even picking up a club! Yes, they’re that much fun. Not only are these two-wheel electric scooters an all-out blast, they’re an incredible boost to pace of play. The Finns can go anywhere on the course other than the putting surface.
This takes a little getting used to (we see Finns parked on cart paths all the time, not that there’s anything wrong with that!) But once golfers get the hang of it, they’re hooked. What’s more, our new fleet of Finns also have coolers that fit snugly on the back of the cycle. You can buy soda, water, and local craft beers from our beverage cooler. Just ask the attendant in The Shop for help if needed.
Summertime is camp time, and we’re proud to once again offer the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Golf Camp in partnership with former Atlanta Braves pitcher and Cherokee Valley member Jose Alvarez. To learn more about the camp and to register, click

Member Profile about Jose and his wife Michelle, who are true ambassadors for our club and community.
The golf course eased out of its winter overseed in early May, and with night time temps in the upper 60s and low 70s, and day time highs in the 80s and 90s, the Bermuda has emerged better than ever. The golf course was aerified a couple weeks ago and will soon be approaching peak summer conditioning. If you have any questions about our maintenance schedule, don’t hesitate to call us at
