FCA Golf Day Camp at Cherokee Valley

FCA Junior Golf Camps are times of "inspiration and perspiration" for aspiring young golfers who want to reach their potential through comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training. FCA Junior Golf Camps offer a unique blend of golf instruction, Bible teaching and life application not usually found at a junior golf camp.

The 2022 FCA Golf Day Camp is scheduled for Sunday, July 24th - Wednesday, July 27th!

FCA Junior Golf Camps are for aspiring young golfers of all ability levels between the ages of 11 and 18.

Sunday Registration: 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Sunday Parent and Child Activities/Orientation: 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Monday - Wednesday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Jose Alvarez - Camp Host

Attended the University of Louisiana Lafayette (The Ragin’ Cajuns) before playing 16 seasons of professional baseball, five of those in the major leagues. His journey of faith in who Jesus is and what Jesus did on the cross began in 1978 while attending college.


After life in baseball Jose began playing competitive golf and started mentoring young aspiring tour pros, developing TourLife Talk, (helping young professionals in the journey of life and tour golf), which was later adopted and called TourLife by the FCA Golf ministry.


Jose has served the duties of a chaplain to the Korn Ferry Tour Pros, wives, caddies and PGA Tour staff since 2007. He and his wife Michelle have been married for 41 years and have made their home in Greenville, South Carolina since 1988. They have 3 adult children, two are married, and they have four grandchildren.

The FCA Golf Camp at Cherokee Valley was not just a great experience for the 20 campers that attended, it was a tremendous experience for me and one that I will remember forever. The teamwork of Matt Jennings and Lauren Landreth from Cherokee Valley along with our Camp Director Head Golf Coach at NGU, Robbie Edwards and the awesome huddle leaders, was truly a work of God’s favor and wisdom.
